Spring 2014

Spring Tournament 2014

Girls

McKay 138 beat Satterthwaite 102

McKay were put in to bat. After losing an early wicket in the first over Alana and Niamh put on a partnership of 57 before both retiring. There was some very tight bowling from Satterthwaite making scoring difficult. Molly and Milly scored 10 and 9 respectively keeping the scoring slowly ticking over. McKay's other batters struggled for runs this time and Alana our retiree re-entered the fray. She smashed the ball everywhere and reached a wonderful 69 before being caught. Our other retiree Nimah came back on adding a few more before being caught and bowled leaving Millie to face the last few balls. McKay's total being 138.

Satterthwaite began the chase similar to McKay's start. They lost and early wicket before Millie and Annabelle started to gather the runs.  Annabelle soon got to 32 before a very impressive low down caught and bowled from Piper saw her innings end. All other Satterthwaite players contributed to the scoreboard with Maddie and Anna making 16 each. In the end Mckay's bowling was too tight on the day and restricted their opposition to 102. Player of the match was Alana Topping scoring 69 runs and taking 1 for 6 off 4 overs.
