Mid Canterbury 80 all out lost to CJCA Green 133/4 at 30 overs
Good win for us today. We bowled Mid Canterbury out for 80. Outstanding bowling performance across the board. Best figures , Ollie O'Lauglin 2-8, Tiaki Oglivie 2-1 and Jeaden Hooper 2-9
The game was stopped on the request of Mid Canterbury at the 30 over mark when we were 133/4.
Tiaki Oglivie 25, Charles Smith 23 and Tom Flavell 25. Not out at the end were Harrison Lund 8 and Zak Foulkes 27.
A very good performance by a very strong team. Great behaviour and a pleasure to coach.
The Yr 7 Gold team gained a 142 run victory over Mid Canterbury. Batting first the Gold team scored 217/9. The top scorers were Dominic Gardiner 72no, Kobe Beecroft 31no and Nicholas Lidstone 26 (extras were also a major contributor). Dominic Gardiner was especially severe on loose bowling as he dispatched many balls to the mid wicket boundary. Mid Canterbury initially offered some resistance, but in the end they were dismissed quickly for 75 (with extras accounting for almost half the runs). Best bowling figures were recorded by Dominic Gardiner 2/5, Logan Roberts 2/6 and Nicholas Lidstone 2/3.
Yr 8 vs Canterbury Country - 1st December
CJCA vs South Canterbury - 8th December
CJCA Blue 145/3 beat South Canterbury 57 all out
South Canterbury won the toss and batted first but were bowled out for 57 in quick time. The pick of our bowlers were Elliot Caddick 2/10, Zach May 2/0 and Jake Grove 1/1 but all the boys bowled very well and took some smart catches .
In response we decided to retire our batsman after 20 balls to try and give all the boys a bat. Openers Jaiden James and Matt Boyles got us off to a great start and both retired, followed by retirements from Caleb Cottom, Ryan Pithey, Nepia Crowe, Elliot Caddick and Ollie Curtis. We passed 57 and went on to bat 30 overs and ended up on 145/3.
CJCA White 225/2 beat South Canterbury 116/9 in 40 overs match
Invitation White won the Toss and elected to bat. A well disciplined batting effort from the Invitation white team 225/2
Superb opening partnership for the first wicket with Matt Munro 51 retired not out and Hugo Reid 50. Strong contributions with the bat from Max Haywood 43 and Josh McCarthy 27 no
Bowling was mostly of a good line and length with no less than 6 bowlers taking a wicket . Owen Rees picking up 3/25
A very encouraging all-round performance from the boys and a vast improvement in many aspects of the game. South Canterbury failed to get on top of tight bowling inside the first 20 overs scoring 57 runs. At the completion of 40 overs South Canterbury were 116/9
CJCA Black 100/3 beat South Canterbury 97 all out and 72/6 on first innings
CJCA Black won the toss and decided to field. Wickets fell regularly and the ‘Black’ side fielded extremely well, and South Canterbury were bowled out for 97 – L Crosbie 2 for 17 off 7; B Entwistle 2 for 6 off 4.
Black declared after securing first innings points at 100 for 3 with a good 70 run opening partnership between Bradley Entwistle (28) and Jayden Ball (40). South Canterbury in their second innings declared at 72 for 6 (B Little 3 for 10 off 5, R James 2 for 7 off 4) giving them a lead of 69. Rain stopped play at this point in time, and the game was called off.
